CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

ARTIST RESIDENCY :
The James Black Gallery is a dedicated live-in and artist work space. We have gallery events every two months, as well as rent out studio space in the down time. The house is from 1889, and was boarded up until 2007 when an artist collective reopened it back up. It is a relatively quiet space except when we host events.
All residents are expected to be welcoming to the general public when the gallery is open as well as take part in projects and meetings to help upkeep the space. Due to the collective quality of the space and investment of time, it is best if we have a longer term resident of six months to a year. We have one month guest residencies here for short term applicants.
Deadline: February 15th
GUEST ARTIST RESIDENCY
The James Black Gallery offers two weeks to a month residencies throughout the year for artists (outside of Vancouver) with project they would like to accomplish. Our residency includes workspace and free accommodations for the time period. We expect documentation of the residency during that time.
